The programming committee are inviting interested speakers and innovators to submit talks and demonstration ideas via a call for papers. As well as inviting talks and presentations, the organisers are keen to hear from colleagues with practical applications they might be keen to share with delegates in a ‘learn and play zone’.
Call for demos
Are you a colleague who is experimenting, playing and adventuring with tech? Are you keen to share insights with attendees, demo what you’ve found and let everyone have a play and try out what you’ve discovered?
We’re dedicating part of our event space to a demo and play zone, so that colleagues experimenting with tech can bring along any hardware or software and share ‘hands-on’ time with tech.
Perhaps you’re working on a research project which makes use of machine learning. Or you’re hooking up Raspberry Pi to experiment with AI in your service coding projects? It might be a practical or a creative application. Whatever it is, if you’re adventuring, we want to hear from you!
Our demo zone isn’t a formal presentation opportunity – think of it as more a workstation for delegates to approach you and have 1:1 chats and a chance to play with what you’re up to.
Demo projects must not be commercial projects (though if you’re a commercial enterprise looking to showcase your work, we’d love to welcome you to our Digital Solutions Lab which is designed to platform solutions providers!)
As Louise Greener, CILIP’s Events & Awards Manager comments “Part of what we’re exploring in this space is the ‘art of the possible’. We’re keen to involve colleagues experimenting with both software and hardware, and to share their creative applications with delegates, so that they can benefit from ‘hands-on time’ exploring innovative new projects”.
Successful demo providers will receive gratis access to the Conference.
